Happy Easter – Lemon Cupcakes

cake5
Hello Everyone,

Happy Easter! At the moment I have two separate blogs for my beauty/fashion posts and my home/baking posts. I read so many blog tips saying that you should make your blog very specific and not to mix too many ideas into one blog. The only issue I have is that by separating my blogs I can’t post on both of them as much as I would like. Today I really wanted to post my Easter Cupcakes on here. As a beauty blog reader I do actually enjoy bloggers that have a variety of content on, especially baked treats. so please do let me know your views on this.

Ooo aren’t they so cute! And yummy too! I would say if I were to make them again I would increase the layering of the mixture to pretty up the inside of the cakes a bit more.

Oh My Bioderma!

Hello Everyone,

For the past year I have been expreimenting with different makeup removers. I always used to use face wipes until I started using Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish. I still use this cleanser now and do love it, but needed something to remove the makeup from my eyes before using it. I tried various products, some of may favourites included the Liz Earle Eye Lotion and Botanics Eye Makeup Remover, both of which I assumed were doing a good job.

Of course I had heard of Bioderma. As with many products I wondered if the product was worth the hype, especially as it appeared to be quite hard to get in the UK. Then, my other removers ran out. I popped onto my old friend Ebay, and spontaneously ordered myself a 500ml bottle of Bioderma Water.

bioderma

Oh my! Now, to say this stuff works is an understatement! Along with my giant babies cotton pads (you must get), the water… Yes water, not only removes every tiddly bit of makeup from my eyes, but is completely smudge free and leaves no oily texture behind. As far I can tell from the ingredients it seems to be water and cucumber mixed with some words I cannot pronounce… but this is clever!

There are a couple of different types although this seems to be the classic one that everyone uses. I would be interested to know if anyone has used one of the others, and if this is their only magic product.

With a fresh clean face, I bid you farewell,

Mirror Mirror…

mirror1a

Hello Everyone,

Now that my spare room is all sorted, I can finally use it as my little dressing room.My jewellery is sorted in various pretty ways, my clothes are tucked away nicely, and my makeup is arranged into draws in my ever so handy GlossyBox boxes.

This week I popped into BOOTS, as you do, and aswell as purchasing a few naughty makeup products, I spotted this No7 mirror in the sale. I had seen it in various vloggers videos and had wanted it for while. It’s £50 price tag had put me off, telling myself that I didn’t really need it. I was delighted to see that it was reduced to £20, yay!

mirror 3

The mirror has this handy light around the edge which really does make the difference in a badly lit room, although it does flicker a little when the head it tilted sometimes.
mirror 2

I love how sturdy this is. The head is thick and heavy and the base holds firm. No mirror toppling here! The rotation of the head, so that you can view yourself in x1 or x5 (scary), is quite stiff which means the mirror doesn’t randomly spin round during use.

Overall I’m really pleased with it. I like how it looks and what it does.
Thumbs up! 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Feeling a bit full of cold this eve but luckily this little book arrived for me today. I read about this book on another blog a while back and had it sitting in my Amazon basket until last week.

This guide to blogging sounds interesting, insightful and appears to cover every part of blogging from fun to pro.
Has anyone already read this? What did you think? I’ll be sure to let you know my thoughts when I’m done.

So snuggle up I shall and read away!

REVLON Lip HAUL

revl9on lip

Hello Everyone,

Last Summer I discovered bright lipsticks. I had never really worn anything other than pearly pink and  neutrals, but as  I started to watch more vlogs, and  soon discovered that bright lips were on trend, and that it was about time I ventured into braver lip colours.

This soon started an obsession, and I bought quite a few coral pinks and reds, which as the Winter came, turned into dark plums and mauves. Now the Spring has returned and I am tackling the lippies head on. I love coral, especially red/orange toned rather than more pink ones.

These four lipsticks were all ordered online, as for some reason I couldn’t get hold of the colorburst lipsticks in store anywhere near me.

I have tried them all on and I love them!

Revlon Lipbutter – Tutti Frutti

tutti

I already have most of the other colours of these. They are so easy to apply, extremely moisturising, and are perfect for those days where you want a bright colour but don’t want a dramatic look.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick – Coral

coral

These are my first colorburst lipsticks, and I love them already. They glide on beautifully and feel so soft and moisturising. This colour is a dramatic red/orange and reminds me of a blodd orange.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick – Raspberry

raspberry

As soon as I saw a swatch of this online I knew it was the colour for me. It is a  juicy pink/red that I think is perfect for Spring and Summer evenings when you want a slightly darker lip without looking too Autumnal.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss – Papaya

gloss1

This sweety coral is so pretty. I like that it is quite sheer but still gives my lips a coral tint. It isn’t too stcky and will look great over any coral lipstick.

I am so excited about these! Now I just ned to put together the perfect outfit to go with them.

Question: What eyeshadows do you pair with coral lips?

Hello Everyone,

After coveting the new Barry M Gelly Polishes and the bright Spring colours in their collection, I decided to look through my stash of polishes to see what I already have. Turns out  I may already have all the Spring colours I need, what a shame! 🙂

All my favourite brands are here (Rimmel, Essie, Maybelline, Revlon & Barry M), and I love the formula of them all.  Of course , please do let me know if there are any that  I have missing, and must go out and get to complete my rainbow.

Hello Everyone,

Looking at my wish list this month I can tell I’m longing for some spring weather. The pastels and corals are back and I want them in my life!

Urban Decay- Naked Basic With lots of bright lipsticks to wear I need something for a more neutral eye and this looks perfect! I love my Naked 2 so this is a must for this month I think.

Revlon – Colorburst Lipstick in Raspberry This colour looks so pretty in photos I have seen. I can’t find it any stores though so I may need to buy it online.

Revlon- Lipgloss in Papaya Seen on Tanya Burrs latest vlog I now must have this georgeous peachy coral gloss for the Summer.

Barry M Gelly Polish I haven’t decided which colours I want yet but these, especially the beige, caught my eye!

Topshop Nail Polish in Sky High This looks so pretty and I do like the Topshop formula.

That’s it! Actually quite a small list for once, although I’m sure I shall find more products I ‘need’ as the month goes by.

GLOSSYBOX March 2013

glossy1

Hello Everyone,

Due to a moving mishap I didn’t receive my GLOSSYBOX last month so imagine how excited I was to see this on my doorstep this morning!

This month’s box appears to have some kind of travel booklet thingy with it, which I am a little unsure of, although it does contain some pretty sticker. I have popped them onto my box to pretty it up a little. Does anyone else keep their beauty boxes and use them as storage for their copious amounts of makeup?

Here’s the line up:

glossy8

I must admit I wasn’t wowed at the products this month. For some reason the amount of products seemed a little low, or maybe this was due to their size not taking up much of the box. I was however quite pleased with the actual products as they are all well-known to me and some are already favourites.

glossy5

Jelly Pong Pong- Lip Blush £12

I love a lip stain, and this one is very pigmented. Unlike my fave Revlon ones, this doesn’t have a pretty smell, in fact it has no scent at all. The texture is nice, pretty moisturising. Colour wise, I think will be great for the Summer. I don’t love it as much as other brands I have but it is a good product considering it costs more than the beauty box itself.

glossy3 Nail Inc – Bruton St. Full Size £11

What a beautiful colour! Dusky pink is always lovely, and this will look so elegant on my nails (once I grow them back again). Ooo it’s like a little bunch of roses in a bottle.

glossy 9

Elizabeth Arden- Eight Hour Cream, full size £25

Oh my! This has to be one of my favourite products of all time. I have the bottle, the lip balm stick and now a handy little travel tube. I remember being uneased by this cream actually being a thick gel when I first used it after hearing people rave about it. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with its moisturising powers. You all need this… you really do!

glossy6

Juicy Couture – Couture La La, full size £63

Now for some reason I always feel a little ‘meh’ when I get a perfume in a beauty box. It’s not that I don’t like wearing perfume but I’m certainly bot very good at it. I have moments where these little tester tubes seems like a fab idea; carry it around, use different ones, choose a fave. Sadly I always just seem to forget I have them and I now have a little stash. It is a very pretty scent though!

glossy 7

Tresemme – Salon Finish Extra Hold

Very handy! I was only thinking yesterday that although I rarely use hairspray I am completely out and need a bottle. I like Tresemme, I like strong hold, I don’t like the smell but I haven’t found a yummy scented hairspray as yet. Thanks GLOSSYBOX.

Now that I have written about all of these and spent time with the pictures, I am actually more excited about the contents than at the start. I’m interested to see if any of these make a monthly favourite in the future.
