THE Boots!

Beautiful Boots Alert!

I couldn’t go to bed without sharing these with you!
After spotting a tweet by @essiebutton I went on a search for a similar slightly cheaper pair, and wowza did I find them! These gorgeous boots were from Republic at a cheeky price of £32!
I love the fit, the slouchy neck and the funky pattern. I think these will be a popular wear in my Autumn wardrobe this year. I am excited to pair them up with some browns, dark reds, oranges and greens! Later on in the month I will post some outfits that include my fantastic find!
I love them!
What do you think?

August Joliebox -First thoughts!

I know people have very different opinions of beauty boxes, but I look at them in this way: They are a little box of fun surprises that you wouldn’t normally discover. So why not ey?! For those of you that have not yet seen or heard of these little treats, they are a box of beauty samples/trials/minis of new and well known brand products for you to try each month. They come wrapped up I. A beautiful box and cost around £10 plus postage each month.

I thought carefully about whether to A. Review a box at the end of the month or B. Give a first thoughts on the box and then show you any fab products that I think are worth buying later.
I decided on Option B because I like to know what is in a box as soon as it arrives and initial thoughts are fun. So here goes.

Before I begin I would like to make a big fuss about a product from my last Glossybox! It is the Yves Rocher- Sexy Pulp Mascara I love this mascara. The bobble end gets right into the corners and the large brush separates, thickens and lengthens lashes too! Just perfect!
Here is a before and after shot. 🙂

This is my August Joliebox. I have researched each item but will also give you my first impressions.Enjoy!

Essential Care – Organic Rose Moisturiser
rrp £19 50ml

Product info:
Treat your skin to the best that nature can offer. A luxurious, antioxidant light-textured day-cream which is fully absorbed leaving the skin soft and velvety smooth. Deeply moisturising with shea butter, jojoba oil, coconut oil, aloe leaf, and the essential oil and hydrolat of damask roses. The cold-pressed plant oils, naturally high in antioxidants of vitamins A & E, and sea buckthorn help counteract the ageing and collagen-destroying effects of ‘free radicals’ and sunlight. Please note that this moisturiser is also suitable as an eye cream.

We make the Rose Moisturiser with:
– Organic shea butter (protecting and moisturising)
– Organic sea buckthorn (a rich plant source of a natural component of our skin, an Omega 7 fatty acid, the production of which declines with age)
– Organic coconut oil (moisturising, conditioning)
– Organic aloe vera (nourishing, repairing)
– Organic rose water
– Organic rose (gentle, calming and restorative)

Suitable for Vegans.
Product is Soil Association Certified.
We use recyclable packaging that was manufactured in the UK and Western Europe. It has not been air freighted to us.

My Thoughts
I love rose products and this does have a classic rose scent. It is quite a runny consistency but sinks into the skin quickly and leaves a pretty smell with no greasiness

Dr Bronner’s – Pure Castile Soap
rrp $2.99 2oz ( uk availability?)

Product info:

Nothing smells as fresh as the smell of organic citrus oils. The organic orange, lemon, and lime stimulate the skin and invigorate the body, resulting in a truly refreshing shower experience. All oils and essential oils are certified organic to the National Organic Standards Program. Packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

Baby Mild-
Our unscented baby contains no fragrance so is great for people who have allergies or sensitive skin. Of course it is great for babies as well. All oils and essential oils are certified organic to the National Organic Standards Program. Packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

18 in 1 Peppermint-
Our most popular fragrance. The peppermint essential oil tingles the body and clears the mind. Because therapeutically peppermint oil is a mild stimulant it increases vitality and clarity. All oils and essential oils are certified organic to the National Organic Standards Program. Packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

My thoughts
The citrus soap is thin and lathers well enough. The smell is DIVINE, like real lemon peel, unlike other lemon products I have and my hands feel so clean! I love this and and am looking forward to trying the others out.

Phil Smith Be Gorgeous – Dry Clean Revitalising Dry Shampoo
rrp £2.99 75ml

Product Info:
Dry clean shampoo
Refresh and revitalise
revives hair in between washes

My Thoughts
I have never been too sure about dry shampoos although many people swear by them. Maybe for a festival or somewhere without a shower but the old fashioned way of water and shampoo sits better with me. Honestly, I am not sure I will even try this, but let me know if I am missing out.

So Susan Cosmetics – Wide awake face palette

No information available :s

My thoughts
This product looks very cheap. The sticker inside is wonky and isn’t even stuck on properly. The cream corrector/concealers are ok yet quite thin. I am also unsure of the eyebrow colours as they are shimmery which is never a good thing! Hmmmm not quite sure about this?!?

Cut by Fred- Leather Hair Styling Lace

My Thoughts
This is a funny little product. I am not sure how I would make this work. In fact I may use it as a wrap bracelet as it is quite a nice suede material and fits in with my Autumn wardrobe.

Let me know if there is anything you would like me to add or if you have any thoughts on these products.

Beauty Travel essentials

I have spent my Summer sunning in Turkey, not so much sunning in Cornwall and generally travelling around visiting friends and family.

When packing for these adventures I found myself overwhelmed with a bathroom of beauty products (and this is before makeup) to choose from.

After much consideration I went away and purchased a mini travel pack of my daily must have Liz Earle kit! With only a couple of additional items I was good to go, and found no real need for any product shopping for the rest of my hols! ( I said no real need ,which is of course very different from the extra items that I wanted!)

Take a sneaky peek inside my bag and see what you think! 🙂

This is the order that I use these products in:

Step 1: Using large baby cotton pads (so much softer and bigger than makeup ones) and Boots Botanics eye makeup remover, gently remove any dark eye makeup! This is really good stuff and the makeup glides away with the smallest amount!

Step 2: Using the Liz Earle hot cloth polishing cleanser, massage a small amount over the face (dry).
Soak and squeeze out the muslin cloth with hot water and wipe off the cleanser.

Step 3: Using a baby cotton pad, sweep a little Liz Earle toner over the face.

Step 4: Massage a small amount of Liz Earle mousturiser into face and neck!

For an extra brightening skin day, use the brightening face mask!

This kit left my face feeling fresh, clear and soft!

What did you use this Summer?

It would be fantastic if you would like, comment or follow me as I have lots more to share! 🙂

Liptastic Summer!

I love that the fashion this summer (however dull the English weather may be) has been bright and colourful!
I relish the chance to experiment with colourful clothes and makeup. This summer I have played with pastel eyes a lot and bright, bold lips (not together of course).

There were two lipsticks that I kept returning to throughout, and thought you may like a little review!

Although I do have a larger collection of high street products, these two lippies are both high end and both happen to be Estee Lauder.

They belong to the long lasting collection, and although they do not last an amazingly long time, they do stay put long enough to top up once in a while, which I enjoy doing anyway!

There are two things that stand out to me with these products and these are the vibrant pigmented colour that they give, and the soft moist feeling that they give my lips. No dryness or cracking atall, just scrumptious shiny colour!

Candy Simmer – A bright blue toned pink with a little shimmer ( similar to MAC’s ‘girl about town’ but feels more delicious on the lips).

Nectarine – An orange toned red with a slight gold shimmer.( More of a blood orange colour than your ordinary small orange fruit) 🙂

I love that I will also be able to wear these this Autumn too, especially Necarine!

What were your Summer Lip colours?

An Easy Read

Lying in bed (yes already) and thought i would share with you the books series that I have got into this Summer!

My holidays require good easy reads that i can follow by the pool side, in a busy airport, or tucked up in bed.

The ‘I heart’ series by Lindsey Kelk is just perfect! The right amount of love, heartache, humour, shopping and girl power all wrapped up in one!

The first in the series is ‘I heart New York’. Here is a cheeky summary:

Get ready to meet Angela Clark as she flees the world’s worst wedding for a new life…

It’s official. Angela Clarke is in love – with the most
fabulous city in the world.

Fleeing her cheating boyfriend and clutching little more than a crumpled bridesmaid dress, a pair of Louboutins and her passport, Angela jumps on a plane, destination – NYC.

Holed up in a cute hotel room, Angela gets a New York makeover from her NBFJenny and a whirlwind tour of the city that never sleeps. Before she knows it, Angela is dating two sexy guys. And, best of all, she gets to write about it in her new blog (Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out). But it’s one thing telling readers about your romantic dilemmas, it’s another figuring them out for yourself …

Angela has fallen head over heels for the big apple, but does she heart New York more than home?

Let me know of you have read these or of you have an easy read that you recommend! 🙂

Happy Reading!

Healthy Hair

As my summer holiday closes I noticed my hair was a little chloriney and dry at the ends. I have also been trying to grow it for a long time now!
Whilst browsing my lovely Pinterest App I came across a link to natural hair treatments.

homemade hair treatments

Always interested in an experiment I popped onto amazon and ordered myself these 3 products (very cheap) and have decided to give them a whirl!

I purchased:

Sweet almond oil which is high in vitamin A, B and E an protects both skin and hair!

Extra virgin olive oil which can be used on the skin for dry patches but is also great for hair with dry ends!

Castor oil , most commonly used for problems down below (hehe) but is also perfect for protecting and conditioning hair and skin.

I have decided to use one of each a week as an hour treatment and if I am feeling brave I may try some of the more interesting recipes from the site mentioned before!

I shall let you know how it goes!
Are there any natural products that you use on your hair? I would love to know and steal! 🙂
